How to Stack Day Trips into a Week
A surprisingly effective Morocco holiday: base in one Marrakech riad all week and ride a different day trip each morning. A rhythm we suggest often — Palmeraie warm-up on arrival day, Agafay sunset on day two, Ourika on day three, rest day in the souks, Kik plateau on day five, then the big one: Tichka pass on your final full day. Same hotel, no luggage logistics, seven distinct landscapes.
Weekly rental rates make this cheaper than it sounds — the 15 % discount at 8+ days applies across our price list, and the bike sleeps in your riad’s parking.
Safety on Day Rides
Day trips relax people, sometimes too much. Three rules cover almost everything: never ride the mountain roads after dark (unlit lorries, wandering livestock), fuel up before the pass rather than on it, and tell someone your route — or simply WhatsApp it to us; we monitor it free for all rentals. Add 30 % to whatever time Google promises in the Atlas: the roads are good, but you will stop more than you think. That is rather the point.
Quick Answers
Which day trip suits a complete beginner?
The Palmeraie loop, then Lalla Takerkoust — quiet roads, gentle curves, easy navigation and plenty of café stops.
Can I do these trips on a rental scooter?
Everything except the Tichka and Aït Benhaddou epics works well by maxi-scooter; those two reward a proper motorcycle.
Do I need a guide for day trips?
No — our marked maps cover all ten. But our one-day guided rides add local stops you will never find alone.
Pair each ride with the sights: the Visit Morocco guide lists what to see at every destination above.
